WebJun 14, 2024 · There will be no "ill" effect on the tire if it is mounted backwards. As mentioned most motorcycle tires are directional to maximize traction for the wheel it is on. Rear tires for maximum acceleration and front tires for maximum braking. That is my the tread direction often looks different from the front to the back.
